The automotive market becoming prosper, racing firms expand market share

19/04/2022

On April 12, the Japanese automaker Honda announced a new plan for the development of electric vehicles (EVs), with the goal of being able to introduce 30 models to the world by 2030. Hyundai in Vietnam also announced nearly 70% increase in auto sales. Along with that, VinFast car company said sales of cars in March were 3 times higher…

According to the new specific plan, Honda car company aims to reach 2 million units/year by 2030, accounting for half of the total number of vehicles sold. In the Japanese market, it aims to sell 1 million units/year by 2025.

In 2021, Honda’s automotive production reached 4.13 million units. With the goal of increasing the production of electric cars in the general production structure, Honda announced an investment of about 5,000 billion yen over a 10-year period for EV research and development and related software. In order to improve the mileage of electric vehicles, Honda is also focusing on the development of new generation batteries.

Currently, its goal is to successfully test a fully solid-state battery by mid-2024, which is expected to last longer than the currently used Lithium ion batteries in today’s electric vehicles.

Earlier, Honda announced that its goal of 2040 will be to completely convert new vehicles into fuel cell automobiles (FCV) and EVs.

The announcement of the specific plan shows that the car manufacturer is increasing the trend of electrification of automobile lines, in response to the government’s call for businesses to implement policies that contribute to implementing the goal of 46% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and carbon neutral by 2040.
